Plantation time books, 1878.

Books recording workers' times at the Rose Hill Plantation of Elizabeth Heyward Trapier Jervey kept by the plantation manager Allen Cadwallader Izard. Three volumes containing date worked, names of workers, activities or tasks performed (cut rice, head rice, hoe rice, rake ditches and clean river bank), and daily wages. Tasks relate to daily activities involved in one calendar year's production of rice crops at Rose Hill Plantation.

Elizabeth Heyward Trapier Jervey acquired Rose Hill Plantation (St. Bartholomew Parish), a rice plantation on the Combahee River, from her father Charles Heyward (1802-1866).
